JUNTO
"Scandinavian Botijo"
A MODERN INTERPRETATION OF A BOTIJO
Junto series was born inspired by the traditional Spanish botijo.
It was designed together with Danish designer Simon Legald while my internship at NormannCopenhagen. The main goal was to create a new home accesory inspired by the botijo, so the main material should be terracotta. During the design process, many different shapes were studied by checking different old botijos and pottery objects.
The result combines the two spouts from the classic botijo with sophisticated and contemporary shapes.

MATERIALS AND SURFACES
Junto combines different surfaces: matt and glazed, grooved and smooth creating an attractive dynamic. The grooved surface also adds grip to the object. The glazed surface make it nice to touch when drinking.
TRADITIONAL AND ELEGANT
When looking at the pieces from Junto collection people can easily recognize elements and details from traditional pottery pieces such as the botijos. However, at the same time, the soft shapes give these pieces an elegant looking so they can fit in many different environments.
MEDITERRANEAN AND SCANDINAVIAN VIBES COMBINED IN A PRODUCT
Add a touch of southern warmth to the table, and let the earthy red colour of fired terracotta bring depth and glow to a light Scandinavian decor.
