BISTRÓ
“Art direction for Bistro table series”
Everyday we find more and more non-places, those environments that we can find in every city and they cannot tell us anything about the city. Those places that, when you are in, you could be in any city around the world.
When we worked on the concept for this art direction project we wanted to find exaclty the opposite type of places. These furniture pieces are made in Andalusia and we wanted to present them sourrounded by powerful spaces with high personality.
The photos were taken in La Térmica building in Málaga, a construction from 1860.
LOOKING FOR NON NON-PLACES

DIFFERENT SPACES WITH ONE SINGLE DESIGN LANGUAGE
We tried to find different spots around the La Térmica building where we could represent different environments such as offices, cafés, terraces, etc.
FURNITURE, COLORS AND PROPS
When working as art directors, we first select the spaces for the photoshoot. Then, we design the different scenarios and we choose the different furniture pieces to be used. We define the colors and we select the different objects to be used as part of the scenes.
ALSO RENDERINGS
Apart from all these photos, we also worked designing a few different spaces to represent different uses for this furniture collection. We designed a café, an office and a restaurant with a patio. For all of these spaces we also applied a similar aesthetic to the one found in the building in Málaga.
TELLING STORIES
When we think about each set, we try to create concepts and stories that people could imagine when looking at the photos.
